A Day At The Park

A DAY AT THE PARK

On 18 May the Ntshongweni Creche went to the Pinetown City Park.

For many of the 65 children, this was their first experience of a park.

What fun...

They just couldn't get enough of running barefooted through the grass...

and playing on the large equipment.

So much fun.

Trying to get a group picture...

Khulekani, our friend and taxi driver

Pastor  & Mrs. Thwala

free to go back to playing

Snack time

yummy

Zeal the budding photographer

Khulekani, Pastor Thwala & my ministry partner Ginger

Ginger explaining to creche staff what a Hawaiian lei is.

Okay, notice that there are public toilets!  Big sign - pointing the way!

toss your backpack here, children

These are two of my favorite shots.

Time for group games...

All in Zulu but obviously part of the game was to lay down.

The principal in the center is leading the fun

Either a little rebel or doesn't like grass. Heck, grass may be new to him, they don't have nice, green lawns in Ntshongweni.

Part of the game was to run.

Back to free play and climbing

and monkey bar to hang on

Can you tell she is one of my favorites?  Just love this sweet angel.

Ginger pushing the children.  All the play equipment needed a shot of DW-40.

Principal sliding... in her dress.

Mpelo knows how to wink

65 children were on this outing

A day for sweet feet.

Odd piece of equipment, it swung around and also come into the center pole.

This little girl was so interested in this thing. And she was the only one who found it and played with it.

I love these precious gifts from  God.

Story time.  No book is being read to them.

Orally the Zulu way.

Prinicipal can truly spin a yarn.

The story is about a pig who would not go into his pen.

Love this photo

This is the second child who had to go to the bathroom - so here she goes.  The first child I was so disgusted that when she returned to the group I ran over with hand sanitizer.  By the second child I gave up... when in Rome!

Lunch for 65 children, 7 teachers, 2 missionaries and 1 Pastor.

That's right 10 loaves of bread.  What can I say, they like carbs here.

Now, lining up to go to the bathroom.

Chicken, bread and a box juice drink... perfect picnic.

Grass, grass, grass

yummo

Delish

Both girls are in Grade R = Kindergarten

Back to playing

One of the teachers, having fun too... in her skirt.

Time to leave but first we must pray and thank God for this extra special treat of a day in the park.

The drive back to the creche.  Thank you to the American ministry that provided the funds for this outing.  We though that the children would sleep after playing as hard as they did on this beautiful day. But NOOOOOOOO to excited still.
